The neighbourhood was created as a result of a 180-year old whiskey distillery renovation, and as the centrepiece of the community, the district perfectly combines new and old with fantastic modern condos and stylish futuristic buildings.

Designed by celebrated architects like Peter Clewes, homes in The Distillery District feature high-end modern finishes, large open floor plans, and stunning views of Lake Ontario. Standard condos in the area could be found for under $1 million, however, The Distillery District is also an excellent neighbourhood to find larger luxury suites and penthouses that are priced quite a bit higher for more discerning budgets.

Entertainment

The Distillery District as we know it today was born in 1830 when William Gooderham and James Worts built a flourishing flour mill on the shores of Lake Ontario. Many years later, Gooderham joined up with his former business partner’s son to turn the mill into a whiskey distillery and Gooderham & Worts Distillery became the largest whiskey producer at the time.

Fast forward through many years, wars, and the Ontario Temperance Act, and you’ll arrive at The Distillery District we know today. It’s a dynamic and exciting neighbourhood that perfectly combines history and old-world charm with a modern sensibility, excellent taste, and amazing amenities.
