Leslieville is a large neighbourhood in Toronto that offers residents a laid back, family-friendly vibe without having to sacrifice the vibrancy of downtown life. The area is on the eastern side of the Don River, and is bounded by Coxwell Avenue to the East, Eastern Avenue to the South, Empire Avenue to the West and Gerrard Street to the North.

The Toronto Star News has dubbed this area as “Hipsterville East” because it has one of the highest rates of gentrification in Toronto. There are several reason for this being that it is close to the Beaches, an easy commute to downtown and rent is seemingly affordable. There is a lot to enjoy in this neighbourhood!

The Properties

Real estate in Leslieville is always on top of most people’s want list. It has some of the oldest homes in Toronto, which are built in the late 1800s and are stylized in the Victorian era. The area largely features semi-detached homes, two-storey houses are the most common trend, and the majority of properties have three bedrooms. There area also a lot of smaller sized houses that are great starter homes and make a great option for those just getting into the real estate market, but don’t want a condo lifestyle. However, there are now a growing number of mid-rise condo developments that are also offered for those who want that lifestyle.
